Farmingdale Trail at Noel Dorwart Park
This morning I checked out the Farmingdale Trail at Noel Dorwart Park located just off Good Dr. There are a handful of trails which are nicely laid on a map at the front of the park.
There’s ample parking at the lot off Good Dr. and a Port-o-potty, which was definitely in need of a cleaning this Memorial Day weekend. The outer trail loops around the park and measures about 1.3 miles. The walkway are loose stone and there are enough inclines and hills to give a good workout.
The pathways are narrow which makes it tough to pass walkers especially groups of two or more. Much of the trail area is covered by canopy, but also features a natural wetlands and some meadows.
One branch of the trail runs up to the little Conestoga Creek at the point of of a railroad bridge…
… and at a few points you cross over smaller branches of the creek. There appears to be a few dirt trails off the main stone trails, but they are much more narrow than the other trails and I didn’t try to run any of them.
It’s not a bad little trail, but not the most ideal for running when it’s crowded with walkers due to the narrow pathways. I’ll go back again because the terrain has enough inclines to give you more than the basic flat trail.
